About the Trail

Zingela Trail Run is a two day Trail Running event, based on the banks of the mighty Tugela River in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Held at the most beautiful time of year to experience the African bush, you can expect warm, blue sky days and crisp, chilly evenings and early mornings. The Zingela Trail Run makes use of a trail network of game paths, within thousands of hectares of arid, thorny bushveld. The area is teeming with game, including giraffe, nyala, kudu, impala, blue wildebeest, warthog and ostrich. The terrain is varied, but is predominantly undulating, rocky game paths, dotted with tall standing aloes and acacia’s.

On both day 1 and day 2, we have introduced shorter route options for those who feel that the full distances are too far.

The HIPPO RUN for Kids - 4km

Start time - 8:00am

This BRAND NEW route has been introduced for the children who are waiting for their parents to finish their run on Saturday morning. Children of all ages from 5 upwards can participate in this fun event and will get to run around the prominent 'koppie', best known as the Hippo. A refreshment table along the route will be provided and your kiddies will be well supervised.

The cost of the Hippo Run is R100 and includes a FREE T-shirt! Please be sure to let us know if your kiddies will be taking part so that we can order their T-shirt in the correct size. Payable upon arrival.
